Patricia Ann Eberly was born April 18, 1943, in Toledo, Ohio to Edmund and Helen (Miscikcowski) Glinski. She was a NW Ohioan her entire life attending St. Hedwig grade school and Edward Drummond Libbey High School in Toledo, later living in Bowling Green, Monclova and Whitehouse. Pat left this world on July 1, 2024 at the age of 81 leaving a legacy as a shining example of a strong and compassionate woman to her daughter, daughters-in-law, granddaughters, nieces and all who were blessed to know her. Pat was married for 57 years to the love of her life, John Eberly. She was a wonderful, loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her children, Michael (Keely) Eberly, Pam Eberly, Chad (Crystal) Eberly, and Jason (Julie) Eberly; her grandchildren, Burke (Ashley) Eberly, Gage (Emily) Eberly, Briana (Steve) Williams, Tate, Corrynn, Carrigan, Cameron, Carter, Conrad, Madalyn and Haley; and her great grandchildren Brax and Tyce Williams, Aslyn and Callum Eberly. She was loved by her sisters Becky (Doug) Farnsworth and Jean (Rob Davis) Robinson, as well as brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, John’s parents, her granddaughter, Gabrielle Eberly, her brother-in-law Ed Kanney, her sister Barb and brother-in-law Jerry Koskoski.
Pat was the picture of a respected quiet matriarch and always exhibited true class. She struggled for the past 10 years overcoming breast cancer, knee replacements, Whipple surgery and melanoma cancer; transcending these obstacles with courage and grace. Pat was determined to always find the positive in every situation and worked hard to instill this attitude in her children and grandchildren. Pat always had a zest for life, was an enthusiastic traveler, and had a love for all things water and sun. Pat found sheer enjoyment in attending her grandchildren’s events and hosting holiday dinners and gatherings. She was at her happiest when surrounded by her family, no matter the occasion. Even when she was suffering, she put on the “Pat face” and powered through. You had to look closely to see she was having difficulty, and her priority was always to make sure everyone else was taken care of ahead of herself. She always had time to brighten others’ days with a quick card or text. Even in death, Pat did it gracefully on her terms. She wanted to spend her last days at home, and she did, orchestrating her final family gatherings with classic Pat humor, laughter and love. At the end her girls, Julie, Crystal, Corrynn & Pam along with sisters Becky and Jean were with her, focused on keeping her comfortable and drawing strength in the love that Pat has shown her family for a lifetime
Before Pat’s retirement, she had been a cashier at FoodTown and Centre Market. She worked in the development office of Sunshine Children’s Home and was a proctor for Pearson Professional Services. Pat approached her work like she approached everything in life, which is to do things the right way. She maintained many lasting friendships from her work life throughout her retirement.
