Patricia Ann Dirrim

On December 15, 2025, Patricia (Pat) Ann Dirrim, 81, passed away peacefully at Otterbein Senior Life surrounded by her family. She was born in Normal, Illinois to Leonard and Mary Ellen Mallory on March 7, 1944. The oldest of three children, Pat graduated from Bronson High School, in Bronson, Michigan and attended Western Michigan University, where she met her husband Sam on a blind date, while he was attending Tri-State University. They recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.

She lost her parents at an early age and was raised on a farm with her cousins by a loving aunt and uncle. As the eldest, she helped support and raise her younger sister and brother, Jean and John.

Pat began her career as bank teller working at Angola State Bank in Angola, Indiana while Sam worked on the Indiana turnpike. After they were married, she spent many years raising their three children before joining Owens Corning when the family moved to Toledo, Ohio from Marion, Indiana. She spent 21 years at Owens Corning as an executive assistant supporting a large executive team until she retired in 2002.

In her younger years, Pat and Sam enjoyed traveling the country and round dancing. She was a life-long crafter and loved to go to estate and garage sales to find deals on unique items. As her family grew, one of her greatest joys was hosting gatherings for birthdays, graduations and holidays. Traditions were important to Pat, and her grandchildren were the beneficiaries of new Christmas pajamas and socks for many years. The family shares her love of the holidays, will cherish their memories of her, and continue the traditions.

Pat’s grandchildren, and most recently great-grandchildren, brought her much joy. She always took the time to celebrate their many accomplishments.

Her faith was also important to her, and she was active in the women’s group at her church, where she impacted people’s lives and made life-long friends.

She will be remembered for her loving heart, gentle disposition and supportive nature.

Pat is survived by her husband Sam; children Tim (Andrea), Tammy Borysiak, Tanya Freeman (Rob); her five grandchildren, Madelyn Dirrim, Julia Borysiak, Anthony Borysiak (Natalie), Jared Freeman and Nathan Freeman; her great grandchildren Zayne and Landon Borysiak; and her brother John Mallory (Donna). She was preceded in death by her sister Jean Borbidge.
