Patricia Borgess

Patricia M. Borgess age 88 of Toledo passed away peacefully in her home on November 22, 2012. She was born January 8, 1924 in St. Joseph Michigan to Harold and Ella McLellan. She attended St. Marys College in South Bend Indiana and then entered nursing school. On January 31, 1948 she married Richard R. Borgess. A life-long learner she taught herself gemology and the rules of golf while in her 80s and took courses in oil painting at the Toledo Museum of Art. A generous woman, she was devoted to her family and her charities. A past volunteer at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center for many years she was also past president of the Notre Dame Academy Mothers Club. She lived by the creed of family first and foremost. The widow of Richard R. Borgess, she is survived by daughters Carol Arnold McLellan, Mary Pat Borgess, MD E. Christopher Ellison, MD, and Ann-Marie Borgess, SND; grandchildren Holly Sean, Jonathan Hillary, Eric Molly, Alex Janet, Christopher Leslie and Patrick; great grandchildren C.J., Samantha, Cadence, Paige, Chandler and Mylah; sister Joan Walmsley; and brother James McLellan; She will also be missed by her grand-dogs Dudley, Macs and Chance, and her great grand-dog Mischa. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday from 3-7 PM at the Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey where a Rosary Service will be held at 6:30 PM. Funeral services will begin Wednesday at 10:15AM in the funeral home followed by the Mass of Christian Burial in Gesu Church at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
