Parke B. Lamb, Jr.

Parke B. Lamb, Jr., age 83, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Swan Creek. The son of Parke and Mildred Lamb, he was born in Toledo on July 5, 1925. He was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School. Following high school he served his country from 1943-1945 in the Army Air Corp with the 449th Bomb group 15th Air force. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he went back to school and graduated from the University of Toledo. Park began a career for over 50 years with New York Life as an Insurance agent. Along the way he met the love of his life, Phyllis Haller and they wed in 1956. He is survived by his cousins, Dorothy Opdycke of Bryan, OH, Mary Connin of Cheyenne, WY, Helene Patterson of Cincinnati, OH, Bill Geiger of Los Angeles., CA ; sister-in-law, Polly Bruce of Wichita, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis; and sister, Marjorie Slayton. There will be no visitation. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to consider Epworth United Methodist Church or the University of Toledo College of Education-Phyllis Haller Lamb/Ada Dawson Stevens Award of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity.
