Pamela S. Kreft

Pamela Sue Kreft, age 65, of Sylvania, died May 19, 2023, with her loving family by her side. She was born July 17, 1957, in Toledo to Richard and Patricia (Mackiewicz) Cheney and graduated from Bowsher High School in 1975.

Pam was employed with Seaway Foodtown for nearly 25 years before entering the insurance industry. She worked for Brooks Insurance, Huntington Bank’s insurance services and most recently with Hylant. She obtained CPIW, CISR, and CIC licensing status.

Pam was a master gardener, enjoying the results of her plantings. She was a classical pianist, a talented artist, golfer, and Euchre player. Pam loved to travel and organize the trips. Instead of trusting driving directions to a cell phone, she relied on maps. Pam loved maps as map spelled backwards spells PAM. She was especially fond of the Bourbon Trail in Kentucky with friends. Another travel favorite was taking the Amtrak train around the country.

Pam was committed to her Catholic faith and was a longtime, active member of The Historic Church of St. Patrick in downtown Toledo. She will be remembered for her engaging, friendly personality. Pam never met a stranger; every person was a friend. She often introduced herself as “Pam, like the cooking spray, Pam”. Her kind presence will be missed by many. God has been waiting for her to come home in Heaven. The world has lost an Earthly angel.

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband, Jeffery Kreft; mother, Patricia Cheney; stepchildren, Kristyn Kautz, Zachary Kreft, James “Nick” Sciarini, Megan Sciarini, and Theresa “Teri” (Thor) Whitlock; siblings, Christopher (Mary), Eric (Becky), and Matthew (Kim) Cheney; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her father, Richard, and brother, Craig Cheney both preceded Pam in death in 2017.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 31, 2023, in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.). Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 1, 2023, at the Historic Church of St. Patrick, 130 Avondale, Toledo, OH 43604. The burial will take place at Roth Cemetery, Monclova Twp.
