Otis W. Sparks, 67, of Port Clinton passed away at his home on Christmas Eve, surrounded by his loving family. He was born, Feb 23, 1943 in Ironton, OH, the son of Chester and Virgie Carroll Sparks. On March 19, 1988 he married Carol Sis Smith Sparks and she passed away on May 2, 2007. Otis was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean War and had served as a volunteer Fireman for several years in Rocky Ridge, OH. Otis had been the manager of the Canteen in the Port Clinton VFW for the last 25 years. He also had worked for Standard Products. He was a member of the Port Clinton VFW, Post 2480, Eagles Aerie 2295 and Moose Lodge 1610. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, bowling, playing pool, and dart ball. Otis will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. He is survived by his children: Ronald Harper of Port Clinton, James Mary Harper of Lesage, WV, Adrien Roberto Rodriguez of Port Clinton, Paul Jodi Harper of Pot Clinton Donna Scott Price of Oak Harbor; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; sisters: Allene Bob Joseph of Rocky Ridge, Sue Mesker of Graytown Dorothy Trimmer of Arizona; brothers: Lester Sparks of Waseon, Earl Becky Sparks of Millbury and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Otis was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters: Mary Bethel Debra Brazelton and brother: Arthur Sparks. Military Graveside services will be conducted by the V.F. W. Homer D. Gardner Post #2480 Honor Guard at 2:00PM, Tuesday, December 28, 2010 in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial contributions in memory of Otis may be made to the family.
