Orpha M. Noftz

Orpha Noftz went to be with the Lord and her husband, son and daughter on Monday, July 14, 2008. She was born in Maumee, Ohio on December 7, 1909 the daughter of Rene and Orpha Cassabon. She graduated from the Maumee school system, attending Union School all 12 years. She was active in dramatics and was encouraged to pursue a career in acting but decided to use her talent as a hobby instead. Orpha met the love of her life, Walter Noftz in 1930 and they were married on June 3, 1931. They were married in Zion Methodist Church where she has been a member for over 77 years. During her life, she spent many hours with family and hosted many special parties for her brothers, parents, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and friends. Also, Orpha was known for her beautiful blue eyes receiving compliments through her life. In addition to her social life she was employed by ADT for 25 years. She also did extensive traveling with her husband and visited 49 states. Orpha was preceded in death by her husband in 1995; daughter, Marilyn Noftz Earle in 2006 with whom she was especially close; son 2 years old, her parents and brothers, Frank, Nathan and Rene. She is survived by her son-in-law William Earle, grandchildren Michael and Mark Linda Earle and great-grandchildren Jessica and Jacob Earle. Also many nieces and nephews survive. Orpha will be remembered by all who knew her as a loving, giving and kind person who believed in sharing with and helping others. The family expresses their heartfelt appreciation to staff at The Manor of Perrysburg where Orpha has been a resident for the past 9 years. Contributions, in lieu of flowers may be made to Zion United Methodist Church, 2600 Copland Blvd., Toledo, OH 43614. Friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home on Friday, July 18, 2008 from 4-8 PM where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM.
