Orlene Mccarthy

Live, Love, Laugh Orlene McCarthy, 64, of Sylvania Twp., died Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Inpatient Unit. Born to Orland and Helen Carper, in Sylvania, Orlene graduated from Sylvania Burnham High School and attended Owens Technical College prior to beginning her career. She worked for 20 years in the bar and restaurant business before working for Gio Realty as a real estate agent. Orlene loved people and was often times friends with people she hadnt met yet. Her motto for life was Live, Love, Laugh. She was a member of Highland Meadows Golf Club and their Ladies 18 Holers Group. She loved to play golf and even when she was battling cancer, came in second in the Highland Meadows Member Guest Tournament. A very giving person, Orlene was a volunteer for Kids Unlimited. Her favorite group was her Circle of Friends. Her favorite time of year was Christmas. She loved Notre Dame football and the tailgate parties. But most of all she loved her husband and family and spending time with them in Colorado. Preceded in death by her parents, Orlene is survived by her husband, Mac McCarthy; son, Chris Carper Holly; granddaughters, Katie and Clara Carper; step-children, Kevin McCarthy Pam, Kelly Cash Deni, Maureen Kenney Patrick, and Brian McCarthy; step-grandchildren, Dennis Cash, Patrick Cash, Brian Cash, Jay Kenney, Erin Kenney, Grace Kenney, Colin Kenney, Patrick McCarthy, and Sean McCarthy; and special friend, Lucy Anton. Friends and family may visit on Sunday from 2-8PM at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave., where a funeral ceremony will take place on Monday at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Those planning a memorial tribute are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio or St. Francis de Sales High School.
