Omer E. Holman, of Oregon, OH, passed away January 13 th after a brief illness. He was born to Anthony and Anna Holman in Sassafras, Indiana and moved to the Toledo area in 1947. Omer served in the US Navy from 1944-1945. After the military, he attended barber college and worked as a barber on the East Side of Toledo for many years.
Omer was a very kind, compassionate person. He truly cared about others and showed love of neighbor by the way he lived his entire life. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family.
Omer enjoyed gardening, playing golf, running marathons, fishing, bowling, watching Cleveland Browns and Indians games, along with spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred (2015); son Mark; son-in-law Robert Casselberry; brothers Herman, Allen, Porter, Carl, Leonard; sisters, Cecilia Droll, Katie Mosier, Bernadine Droll, and Mary Kinn.
He is survived by his brother, Tony Holman; daughters, Mary C. Casselberry (Milan, OH), Sue Ortloff (Toledo, OH); grandsons, Robert (Rebecca) Casselberry (Amherst, OH), Michael Casselberry (Norwalk, OH); great-grandsons, William Casselberry (Milan, OH), Jaxtyn Casselberry (Norwalk, OH).
A private visitation will be held for Omer Holman. A graveside service will be held in the Spring. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com .
