Olga Khristov

Olga was born to Joseph and Mary (Bekanich) Owad in Dora, Pennsylvania, graduated from Waite High School, and happily spent the majority of her life raising her family. She met her late husband, Gregory Khristov, at St. George Bulgarian Orthodox Church, where they married on August 30, 1964. Olga and Gregory enjoyed many happy years tending to their home garden, small farm, and orchard. Olga was in charge of preserving, supervising barrels of sauerkraut, filtering stomped grapes for wine, and canning countless bushels of tomatoes and Bulgarian peppers. Olga had an infamous sweet tooth and would slip her grandchildren candy and chocolates. She had a lifelong love for TV westerns and embodied that adventurous spirit, enjoying summers camping with her family and friends. The memories of her life and love will be cherished forever by her children, Maria Khristov-Riveron, Joseph Eli Khristov, and Natasha Khristov Ferguson (Jeffrey); grandchildren, Joseph Michael Eli Khristov (Chelsea), Natasha Riveron, and Nadia Ferguson; and great-grandchildren, Eli Khristov and Ezra Khristov. Olga will be missed by her loving cat, Little Bear, family, and friends. She and her family also cherished the many new friends she made through in-home health care who made her time at home comfortable and fun. The family welcomes friends to gather at the Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, 830 Lime City Rd. in Rossford, Ohio on Sunday, June 20 from 2:00 p.m.-7 p.m. with prayers at 5:30 p.m. Funeral services for Olga are private.
