Norval C Kohlhorst

Norval C. Koolie Kohlhorst, age 82, of St. Petersburg, Florida and formerly of Maumee, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was born on January 11, 1933 to Virgil and Opal (Stark) Kohlhorst in St. Marys, Ohio. Koolie proudly served his country in the USAF for four years, three of which were in Germany.  He worked for Peoples Savings as a Data Processing Manager for 30 years and then for Fleegers Pro Hardware for 17 years.  Koolie was a member of Maumee United Methodist Church for 52 years, where he served on numerous committees.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening and made beautiful furniture and cabinets. Koolie is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Carol; son, Kevin (Angie); daughter, Kristine (Larry) LaHote; grandchildren, Erika; Jacob; Evan; Alex; Caitlyn; Samantha and Jamie; sister-in-law, Paula Fledderjohann and brother-in-law, Gene Bubp and many nieces, nephews and close friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and several close friends. Friends and family will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, on Sunday, May 31, 2015 from 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM.  Funeral services will be held at the Maumee United Methodist Church, 405 Sackett Street, Maumee on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 10:00 AM.  Interment to follow at Fort Meigs Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Maumee United Methodist Church or VA Bay Pines Hospice, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines, FL 33744.  Many Thanks to Pastor Joanie Schilling for her prayers, love, support and time spent with the family.  Online messages and condolences may be shared with the family at walkerfuneralhomes.com.
