Norris Schiewe

On Saturday morning, June 7, 2014, Norris Schiewe went to be with the Lord and his beloved wife, Joy. There, they will remain hand in hand throughout eternity. He was born November 01, 1932, the son of Walter and Gertrude Schiewe. On June 6, 1953 at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, OH, he married Joy Patricia Joy Ann Wuertz and she preceded him in death on September 26, 2013. Norris was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. Norris had worked for Erie Army Depot, NASA and the FAA. His name, along with his colleagues, appears on a plaque on Mars, commemorating their work on the Rover Heat Shield. Norris was able to add a touch of humor to any and all situations. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of American Legion, Oak Harbor Golf Course, and the Liberty Aviation Museum. An avid history buff, Norris also enjoyed golfing, fishing, crossword puzzles, computers and general tinkering. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include: Son: Jeffery Deb Schiewe; Daughter: Deborah Earl Moore; Grandsons: Bryan J. Kim Schramm and Eric J. Theresa Schramm; Granddaughters: Kendra Mack Kellerman, Lindsay Matt Metter and Courtney Greg Schiewe; Great-Grandchildren: Jaelen Schiewe, Mia Joy Metter, Emme Kellerman and Benjamin Schramm; and sister: Marilyn Charles Carmin. Molly the dog and Butchy the cat survive. Norris was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother: Harold. Visitation will be 5-8pm, Tuesday, June 10, 2014 in the Gerner-Wolf- Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, OH 43452. Funeral services will be conducted 11am, Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Peace Lutheran Church, 900 Jefferson St, Port Clinton, OH with visitation from 10-11am. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton.
