Norman L. Taylor, 83, of Port Clinton, died Saturday, June 08, 2013 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, Port Clinton. He was born on April 22, 1930 in Port Clinton to Walter W. and Martha Tilda Almade McMurray Taylor. Norman served in the Tennessee National Guard. On September 28, 1957 in Tennessee he married Virginia M. Marshall and she survives. Norman worked for Celotex in Port Clinton and retired in 1984. He was also the owner/operator of a few local businesses. Norman loved to work on cars. He could play any instrument he tried and sing. He also played in a local Blue Grass band. In addition to his loving wife of 55 years, Virginia, Norman is survived by his children: Darrell Irene Taylor, Sandy Hayward Evans, and Gary Taylor all of Port Clinton; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and sister: Ruth King of Kingsport, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Brenda Lucas, 2 great grandchildren, brothers: Jack, Bud, George, Ed, Dick, Lawrence and Charlie Taylor, and sisters: Velma Johnson, Gladys Shonfield, Mary McMurray, and Margie Darnelle. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton. Graveside services will be conducted 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. Memorial contributions may be given to Stein Hospice.
