Norm had a deep love for sports, bowling, and traveling with his wife, family, and friends. He enjoyed visiting casinos across Michigan and had a special fondness for the Upper Peninsula. Above all, he cherished cheering on his children and grandchildren in their athletic endeavors. A true servant leader, Norm was known for his selflessness and dedication to helping others. He was a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church, where he devoted more than 65 years to serving the congregation. His generosity extended beyond the church—he was an organ donor to his late brother Robert and donated 55 units of blood to the American Red Cross. He delivered meals for the Bedford Senior Community Center for 18 years, and in 2008, the State of Michigan recognized him for his outstanding service to the community.
