Norman Kossow age 94 of Toledo was reunited with his beloved wife, Helen Mae on December 31, 2012 surrounded by his family at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo, He was born February 3, 1918 in Hamler, Ohio to Frederick and Nettie Nagel Kossow. He married Helen Mae Kirchofer on March 26, 1942 and she preceded him in death on June 14, 1997. Norman was a 1936 graduate of Scott High School and served his country during World War II with the Third Armored Division. He was a bus driver for Community Traction and TARTA for 40 years, retiring in 1980. He is survived by his five children: Ronald, Robert, Joyce Warren Althoff, Judith and Jill Mark Sulewski; grandchildren Julie Robert Conkel, Timothy Jillian Althoff, Adam Sulewski and Joy Anthony Wagener; great-grandchildren Alexander and Benjamin Conkel and Lukas Althoff. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and great-grandson Collin Althoff. Norman was grateful for his large family and many close friends who made his life complete. If there were pictures in dictionaries his would be next to the word devotion for the care he gave his wife when she was afflicted with multiple sclerosis in the early 1960s. Friends may visit at the Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey on Saturday after 10 AM where funeral services will follow at 11 AM with Pastor Lars Olson of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, downtown Toledo officiating. Entombment at Toledo Memorial Park.
