Norman Edward Dawson

Norman Edward Dawson Jr., Mr. Norman Edward Dawson Jr., age 65, passed away on Friday, April 30th at his home in Holland where he lived for over 60 years. As a child, he enjoyed running freely among the fields and woods near his home exploring and finding new adventures, solidifying his enduring love of nature and the outdoors. Continuing into adulthood he found great pride caring for the less fortunate throughout his 26 years of service at Sunshine Children's Home. While not at work his love of the outdoors was evident in many pleasant decades spent fishing, walking, and birdwatching at local parks, his favorite of which was Oak Openings. It was this love of nature along with his gentle kindness that his children fondly remember most. Norman was a kind and loving father, grandfather, and uncle. He is survived by his children Cari (Swink) (Jon), Jeremy (Cynthia), and Edward (Elizabeth) Dawson, grandchildren Jocelyn, Yonatan, and Joshua Romero-Dawson, Jacob Swink, Justis Smith, Myla, Jeremy Jr., Archer, William (Liam), and Harper Dawson. He is preceded in death by his father Norman E. Dawson Sr., mother Catherine Dawson, sister Patricia Peters, brother Clifford Dawson, and granddaughter Ava Dawson. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM.
