Norman W. Cook, 85, of Rossford, OH and formerly Oak Harbor, OH passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo, OH. He was born on December 3, 1936 in Toledo, OH to Pearl Wayne and Marguerite (Purcell) Cook. Norm served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1954-1957. He graduated from the former Toledo Bible College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Religious Education. Norm served as former pastor for the Genoa Baptist Church beginning in 1976 and for several area churches since. He also worked as a workshop specialist at Riverview Industries in Oak Harbor for many years and he worked as a patrolman for the Ohio Highway Patrol. He was a member of the Friends of Haiti Organization, Holland, OH. Norm always put God and his Country first, and he loved serving in the military. He was so proud of his family heritage in the military as well. Norm loved his family more than anything in the world.
Norm is survived by his wife, Judith Kay (Blake) Rybak-Cook, children, Brian (Nelda Alvarez) Cook, Robert “Bob” (Deb) Cook, Norm (Sheila) Cook, and Connie (Donna) Cook, grandchildren, Brandi (Shane) Overmyer, R.J. (Jeanne) Cook, Byron (Hollie) Cook, Pat (Kari) Cook, Josh (Brittany) Cook, Mike (Carmen) Cook, Sarah (Michael) Needham, Rachal (Nathaniel) Moyer, Norman Cook, niece, Pennie Griffin, nephew, Blake Griffin, great grandchildren, Lucas Overmyer, Kendra Overmyer, Abigail Overmyer, Huntergrace Overmyer, Brayden Overmyer, Leighlyn Cook, Nykole Cook, Wyatt Cook, Shelby Cook, Peyton Cook, Madison Hussani, Dante Cook, Cori Cook, McKenna Cook, Chyanne Cook, Penny Needham, Charlie Needham, Sophia Needham, and Levi Moyer, and great great grandson, Axl Boyle. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Janet (Pierson) Cook, granddaughter, Nicole Cook, and great granddaughter, Lexi Overmyer.
Memorial services for Norm will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 28, 2022 at the Alliance Chapel, 11805 SR 105, Oak Harbor, OH. Interment will follow in Locust Point Cemetery, Carroll Township, OH with military graveside honors conducted. Memorial contributions in memory of Norm may be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo, OH or Rossford Fire & Rescue, Rossford, OH.
