Norma Jean Seymour, 82, of Port Clinton, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, March 22, 2024. She was born the daughter of Norman J. and Dorothy M. (McCumber) Till on August 19, 1941, in Shelby, Ohio. She married the love of her life, Elzy Seymour on March 7, 1983, and spent the next 26 years together until his death on November 24, 2009.
Norma Jean spent several years, during the 1970’s, working at City Bakery and from late 1970 until the mid-1980’s she worked for The Port Clinton Manufacturing Co. She enjoyed watching Hallmark movies and the Wheel of Fortune, reading Danielle Steele novels and working on puzzles. She was a fantastic baker who was known for the delicious cakes, cookies and pies she made for her friends and family. Spending time with her family was always on the top of her priority list, loving each in her own special way.
Norma Jean is survived by her children, Denise (Jeff) Dziak, Jerry (Lilly) Flynn, Patty Ballreich, and John (Vicky) Flynn, grandchildren, Jason, Chris, Amanda, Lindsey, Amber, Jordan, April, Lance and Alexandra, Grant, Brittany, and Allison, great grandmother to 23 and cat mom to Baby Gray and Molly. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law, Don Ballreich, and brothers David and Ricky Till.
Visitation for Norma Jean will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, March 28, 2024, at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton, Ohio. Interment will take place in Kentucky at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Stein Hospice of Sandusky, Ohio.
