Norma Rae Lipovsky

Norma “Rae” Colbetzor Nichols Lipovsky went into her heavenly home on May 17,2024. Norma was preceded in death by her parents Herbert & Carlotta Colbetzor, first husband Robert W. Nichols, siblings Laura “Sis” and Ron, stepson Daniel. She is survived by her husband of 58 years George Lipovsky. Loving and missing her are daughters Darlene (Regan) Ries, Donna (Wally) Atwood, Robin (Rick) Smeltz. Also survived by seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. Her siblings, Pat, Ginni and Rhonda (Bob) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She attended Barberton High School, class of 53. She retired from Barberton Hospital. Norma was a member of Bowling Green Nazarene Church and was a former member of Kenmore Nazarene Church where she served in many areas. One of her life achievements was winning Queen for the Day in 1963. She was the Steeler’s #1 fan! Norma’s biggest joy was her family! Her last prayer was for all her unsaved loved ones to know the Lord so they can join her someday.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 31, 2024 from 1-3 p.m. with the service at 3:00 p.m.at Kenmore Nazarene Church, 2025 12th Street, SW, Akron, Ohio 44314, with Pastor John Megyesi and Pastor Terry Passmore officiating.
