Norma R Karafa

Norma Rose (Lee) Karafa, 86, of Perrysburg, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, December 29, 2015. She was born in Toledo, Ohio to John and Emily (Anderson) Lee on December 7, 1929. A graduate of Whitney High School, Norma married Frank Karafa on May 30, 1953 in Toledo. Norma was an active member of St. Rose Catholic Church. She volunteered in the St. Rose Cafeteria, worked playground duty, and worked with the St. Rose Reading Program. Norma was a former President and Chairman of Perrysburg Democratic Club, worked as a Chapel Aid at St. Luke’s, a member of Wood County Democratic Club, and was on the Wood County Executive Committee. Norma is survived by her husband, Frank S. Karafa; children, Michael L. Karafa, Lynn M. Steinmiller, Frank S. Karafa III; grandchildren, Gretchen (Dustin) Torres, Nicholas (Kasey) Karafa, Morgan (Will) Jones; great-grandchildren, Rylan Conrad Torres, Peyton Lee Torres, Elise Oeta Lynn Jones; and sister, Vivian Curry. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Colleen Anderson. Friends will be received on Sunday, January 3, 2016 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133) where a scripture service will begin at 7:00 P.M. Prayers will be recited at the Funeral Home at 9:45 A.M. on Monday, January 4, 2016, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Rose Catholic Church beginning at 10:30 A.M.
