Norma Jean Johnson, 71, of Oak Harbor, died Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky. She was born September 1, 1937, in Oak Harbor, Ohio, to Clarence W. and Thelma Brunkhorst Bunning. On December 18, 1955, in Oak Harbor she married Robert Johnson and he survives. Norma worked at Winous Point Shooting Club, Port Clinton. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor, the Town & Country Garden Club, and an auxiliary member of Nugents Yacht Club, Port Clinton. She was an avid gardener and entered her flowers in the Ottawa County Fair. Normas family was her lifes pride and joy; nothing was more important. In addition to her loving husband of 53 years, Robert, Norma is survived by her daughter, Lisa Cowell of Genoa, sons, Gregg Diana Johnson of Oak Harbor, Matt Sherrill Johnson of Lindsey, and Bart Renee Johnson of Oak Harbor; grandchildren, Amanda, Cortney, Angela, and Brandon Johnson, Sgt. Joseph Andrea Helle, Justin Helle, and Ariana Johnson-Cowell, great grandson, Killian Printy; brothers, Russell Margaretta Bunning of Newark, OH, and Boyd Dianne Bunning of Oregon; sisters, Joy Delbert Latham of Thornville, OH and Wilma Peg Greider of Fremont. She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, Donald Cowell, brothers, Kenneth, John, and Roy Bunning, and sister, Edna Ann Bunning. Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 15, 2009, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor, with visitation from 8:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in Roose Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial contributions for Norma may be given to Habitat for Humanity, St. Pauls Lutheran Church, or Bay Township Vol. Fire Dept.
