Norbert A. Wysin, 88, of Port Clinton died Sunday, April 12, 2009 at Otterbein North Shore Retirement Community, Lakeside-Marblehead, OH. He was born June 21, 1920 in Chicago, IL the son of John and Hedwig Kruk Wysin. On May 06, 1950 he married Rosemary E. Darr and she preceded him in death on September 30, 2005. He worked as a chemist for the U.S. Gypsum Company for 34 years. Norbert was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, OH. He served as a Naval Aviator in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Norbert loved golfing, fishing, gardening, and all sports, especially the Cleveland Indians. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include: Children: Mark Connie Wysin of Scotia, NY, Chris Wysin of Port Clinton, OH, Pat Michael Evans of Toledo, OH, Tom Wysin of Battlecreek, MI, Gary Marcilene Wysin of Manhattan, KS and Greg Wysin of Akron, OH; 12 Grandchildren; 2 Great-Grandchildren; Brother-In-Law: Bill Cathy Darr and many loving Nieces & Nephews. Norbert was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters: Dorothy Wysin, Emily & Jim Merutka and their daughter Celeste. A Gathering of family & friends will be 2-4 & 6-8PM, Friday, April 17, 2009 at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, Port Clinton, OH. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father John Missler at 10:00AM, Saturday, April 18, 2009 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, OH. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH with a military graveside service. Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or Otterbein North Shore Retirement Community.
