Nora Jeanne Aust, 92, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2022, in the presence of her loving family. She was born in Toledo on August 17, 1930, to her late parents, Garrett and Mary (Sersian) Moore, and she grew up alongside her two siblings.
Jeanne graduated from Sandusky St. Mary’s High School in 1948 and married her husband, John “Jim” Aust, at 18 years old in 1949. Together they raised their three children whom she loved dearly. Jeanne was devoted to her husband, family, and friends, and was a lifelong Catholic whose faith strengthened and formed her all throughout her life. She lovingly served as her husband’s caregiver when he was in need for many years. She was currently a parishioner at Corpus Christi University Parish.
Jeanne loved sunflowers, walks in the park, and traveling with her family and best friend, Dorothy. She particularly enjoyed travel to England to meet relatives and learn family history. She was an enthusiastic supporter of the sporting activities of her children and grandchildren. She always made time for her Tuesday night ladies’ group. She was an avid birdwatcher, loved nature and gardening and enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends. She was known for being an expert baker, especially for her pumpkin bread, and always shared recipes but they could never quite be duplicated. She was a faithful and faith-filled woman, mother, and friend, and will be immensely missed by all who knew her.
