Noemi Procaccini, 98 of Rossford, Ohio passed away peacefully at home on March 21, 2025. She was born in Ostra, Italy on April 22, 1926, to Cesare and Maria Berrettini. She came to the United States to start her new life with her husband, Antonio Procaccini in January 1950 making the turbulent crossing by ship alone at the age of 23. They settled in Toledo and later moved to Rossford in 1964. Both became citizens within 5 years. She worked at Mercy Hospital for 25 years first in the laundry and then in the mailroom. At the June 1990 Mercy Employee Service dinner she was awarded the President's Award: Core Values in Action.
She reveled in her new life as a wife and mother. Italian traditions, cooking, and baking all dad's favorite things. Keeping family and friends close. Always the peacemaker. Always thoughtful and caring. Her energy was boundless. She had learned to drive at Rossford High School and with her best friend and sister-in-law, Assunta who was the navigator farm stands and the farmer's market where favorites. After retirement she took care of her husband, whose health declined with love and compassion. Never leaving his side. Taking him everywhere to visit friends and family. They were fortunate to be able to return to Italy a number of times before it was too difficult for him. After his passing she spread her wings and began volunteering at St. Charles Hospital and at All Saints Catholic church helping prepare cabbage rolls, pirogi, and kolachi for the church festivals. She went to Body Recall classes with her church buddies at the Rossford Recreation Center under the guidance of Pat Sloane. She went on two Italian Caribbean cruises with a couple of her Italian girlfriends and had the time of her life including a climb up Dunne River Falls at the age of 82.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Antonio, brothers Inocenzo and Diolette Berrettini, and her beloved brother-in-law Nello and sister-in-law Assunta Procaccini. Survived by her sisters Rita and Fausta Pellegrini, daughters Valerie Procaccini and Marina Weber. Grandchildren Amie, Kris, and Carly Weber, loving nephews Mario (Kristi) and Vincent Procaccini, and niece Margherita (Dan) Clark. Special thanks to Ashley, Dru, and Molly from Heartland Hospice for their care and support through it all.
