Nellye B. Stahl

Nellye B. Nell Stahl, 102, of Toledo, went home to be with the Lord on December 14, 2015. She was born October 19, 1913 in Miami, IN. Nell was a direct descendant of the first settlers of Miami and Cass County, Indiana. She married Merrit N. Stahl on February 14, 1931 in Toledo who preceded her in death on May 20, 1996. She was also preceded in death by four older siblings, Sally Foote, Opal Walker, Orpha Taylor and Estelle DuHammell; and son, Ronald Stahl. Nell was a homemaker and kept active with volunteer work in her free time. She was a member of the Ohio State Mothers Club, the Womens Auxiliary of Riverside Hospital and served as president of the Horace Mann PTA. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, working crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Nell was also a skilled seamstress, decorator and gardener. She loved to stay in touch with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was the household Mrs. Fixit. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Shirley Damm, Lee W. (Debbie) Stahl, Sharon (Don) Richard and C. David (Lynn) Stahl; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren, one niece and 3 nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 22, 2016 in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.). Private interment took place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorials suggested to Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania, Ohio or the Hospice of your choice.
