Nellie E. Peters

Nellie E. Peters, 98, of Avon, OH and formerly of Oak Harbor, OH passed away, Thursday, May 01, 2008 at Avon Oaks Nursing Facility, Avon, OH. She was born in Tontogany, OH on February 13, 1910, the daughter of John and Yettie Vollmar Burditt. She earned a Masters Degree from Bowling Green State University. On May 24, 1931 in Haskins, OH, she married Luther Peters. He preceded her in death on February 20, 1995. Nellie was a teacher and principal in Carroll Township. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, OH. Nellie was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority and a member of the Farm Bureau. She loved to golf, garden, read and travel. Nellie will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include: Son: Luther J. Katy Peters of Fountain Hills, AZ; Daughter: Shirley Rudy Rice of Grafton, OH; 5 Grandchildren; 4 Great-Grandchildren and Sister: Cora Digby of Oak Harbor, OH. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sisters: Evelyn, Myrtle, Reta, Helen and Edna. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8PM, Monday, May 05, 2008 in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor, OH. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Dave Tinker at 11:00AM, Tuesday, May 06, 2008 in the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, OH. Interment will be in Union Cemetery.
