Nellie M. Nehls

Nellie M. Nehls, 92, of Oak Harbor, died Friday, July 8, 2011, at the Ottawa County Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor. Nell was born July 31, 1918, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Samuel and Nellie Ellis Holmes. On July 4, 1935, in Oak Harbor, Ohio, she married Alvin F. Nehls and he preceded her in death August 20, 1991. Nell attended Waite High School in Toledo, Ohio, and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor. She was a homemaker and enjoyed antiquing where she had a shop on Mud Creek Road. Most importantly, Nell loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nell is survived by her children, David Judy Nehls of Flordia, Dr. Robert Norma Nehls of Catawba Island, Ohio, Pastor Timothy Beverly Nehls of Florida, Diane John Carson of Kenton, Ohio, and Janet Marvin Klienhans of Pennsylvania, 20 grandchildren, and 30 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Joan Behnken, and sisters, Lois Watkins and Ruth St. John Visitation for Nell will be from 2:00-4:00p.m & 6:00-8:00p.m.on Tuesday July 12, 2011 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Oak Harbor, Ohio. A funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday July 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. St. Paul Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, Ohio.with additional visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions for Nell may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor or Stein Hospice Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
