Nelda Ann St.Clair

Apr 18, 1936 — Sep 2, 2026

Nelda Ann St. Clair, 90, of Port Clinton, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. She was born on April 18, 1936, in Oak Harbor, Ohio, to the late Nelson and Ellen (Flynn) St. Clair.

Nelda was a woman of strong Christian faith who loved God and cherished all that He created. She often spoke of how her faith carried her through some of life's toughest battles. Along the way, she relied not only on her faith, but also on her wonderfully wicked sense of humor. Nelda had a gift for making people laugh and feel welcome. She was loved by many and had a remarkable ability to make friends with anyone she met, even a complete stranger.

Nelda enjoyed many simple pleasures throughout her life. She had a special love for cats, enjoyed painting, and took great pride in caring for her plants. Her faith remained an important part of her life, and she enjoyed attending Bible study and spending time with others who shared her beliefs.

She also found great fulfillment in her career in admissions at Stautzenberger College. Nelda genuinely cared about the students she served and went above and beyond to support and encourage each one. Her dedication and hard work were recognized throughout her career, and she became the first person in admissions to reach one million dollars in admissions.

For 32 years, Nelda traveled around the country as a devoted Coast Guard wife. Through the many moves and adventures that came with military life, she embraced each new chapter and remained a steady and loving presence for her family.

Family was at the heart of Nelda's life. She was a very hands-on mother who made certain her children had three meals a day and was involved in every part of their daily lives. She expressed her love through the countless things she did for her family, creating a home filled with care, support, and good food. Nelda especially enjoyed cooking, with chicken paprikash and homemade dumplings among her favorite dishes.

Nelda's love for God, her family, and the world around her was evident in the way she lived her life. Her faith, humor, generosity, and genuine care for others will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Wysocki; her great-granddaughter, Olivia Wysocki; her brother, Robert (Ann) St. Clair; nephew, Robert (Shari) St. Clair Jr.; nieces, Amy St. Clair and Kathryn St. Clair; great-nephew, Brett St. Clair; and great-nieces, Renee "St. Clair" Flood and Kailey St. Clair. She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.

Nelda was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Theodore Polgar; and her grandson, Eric A. Wysocki.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date.
