Ned E. Barnes, age 82 of Sylvania passed away Friday October 12, 2012 in his home. He was born December 30, 1929 in Temperance, Michigan to Lewis and Mary Barnes, Jr. An army Veteran of the Korean War where he served with the military police, Ned returned to Toledo to become a third generation owner of the former Paramount Printing Company for 43 years, retiring in 1995. A phenomenal golfer, he was a charter member of the Byrnewyck Country Club now Brandywine where he won a club championship. He was also a lifetime member of Sylvania Country Club where he won numerous club championships. Ned won the Toledo District Amateur Championship in 1969 and qualified for the Ohio Amateur Tournament twice. He had 11 certified holes in one. Ned was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Joanne Barnes; and second wife Anne Barnes. Surviving are his son Ned Karen Barnes, Jr.; daughter Rebecca Mike Aumiller; step-sons Anthony Debbie, Greg Rosie and Jim Ann Morris; sister Marilyn Ed Kaser; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren nieces and nephews; and special friend and care-giver Mary Ellen Beattie. Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. West of Corey on Tuesday from 2-5 and 6-8 PM where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 AM. Private interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
