“When asked why one set of footprints the Lord said “That is when I carried you”. Naomi Meyer, 95, while surrounded by her family, journeyed to her heavenly home on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was born on January 15, 1919 in Lufkin, Texas to Marshall and Malinda (Arnold) Watson, one of eleven children. Naomi was a strong, determined hard worker who enjoyed the simplicity of life. She enjoyed gardening, canning, reading, painting and camping. Naomi was a nurse at the Lutheran Nursing Home in Oregon, Ohio. She was also a long time member of the former East Christian Church in Oregon, Ohio. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters, Beverly Spangler of Cincinnati, Debra Meyer (Dave Knepper) of Perrysburg and son, Dennis Meyer (Lisa) of Paulding, Ohio, along with two grandchildren, Scott and Alondra. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was husband, James Meyer and infant grandson, Matthew Spangler. She is now on a new journey, where death shall not be feared but embraced. The family will receive guests on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, Ohio, 419-874-3133, from 10 until noon, when the memorial service will begin. Mary Wood will be officiating. A luncheon will follow the service. A private burial will be held at Restlawn Memorial Park. The family would like to thank everyone for their support.
