Naomi J. Meachen

Naomi J. Meachen, 84, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Wednesday, July 08, 2009 in her home. She was born on May 02, 1925 in Gypsum, OH, the daughter of John L. and Cora L. Tasch Coyle. She married Charles F. Meachen on June 21, 1947 in Port Clinton, OH, at St. John Lutheran Church. Naomi worked as a nursing assistant for H. B. Magruder Hospital and was also a homemaker. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and a member of the Priscilla Circle. Naomi was a member of Erie Twp. Mothers Club, Mothers Roundtable and a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was an Erie Twp. precinct worker. Naomi enjoyed crocheting, sewing, candle making, rug- weaving, quilting and meeting with her fellow classmates Port Clinton High School Class of 1943. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include: Loving Husband of 62 years: Charles F. Meachen of Port Clinton, OH; Son: John Janice Huebner Meachen of Wausau, WI; Daughters: Ruth Ann Richard Budd of York, ND and Katherine Robert Walls of Port Clinton, OH; Grandchildren: Carrie Noel Christian of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Jennifer Mark Mitchell of Stevens Point, WI, Jennifer Jay Bonning of Strongsville, OH, Jeffry Beth Meachen of Wausau, WI, Nathanael Budd of Minot, ND and Adrienne Casey Anderson of East Grand Forks, MN; Great-Grandchildren: Christian Anderson, Emma Meachen and Hazel Mitchell; Step-Great-Grandchildren: Chase, Colton and Carter Christian; Sisters: Eleanor Honsperger of Fremont, OH and Mildred Yoeman of Banning CA; Brothers: Jack Ramona Coyle of Danville, VA and James Renee Coyle of Port Clinton, OH and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Naomi was preceded in death by her parents and infant son: Frederick Meachen. Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8PM, Sunday, July 12, 2009, in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor James Lehman, at 2:00PM, Monday, July 13, 2009 in St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, OH, where additional visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in LaCarpe Cemetery, Lacarne, OH. Memorial donations in memory of Naomi may be given to Stein Hospice of Sandusky, OH or St. John Lutheran Church Endowment Fund.
