Naomi Yvonne Mcclure

Naomi (Nicky) Yvonne McClure peacefully passed away July 8, 2016 surrounded by family. She was born September 14, 1931 in West Lafayette, OH to Enos and Marion Powell. Naomi was raised in Wooster, Ohio a devout Christian caring more about others than herself. She spent much of her life in Toledo volunteering at; Covenant Presbyterian, Washington, and various central city churches. She also volunteered at Toledo Hospital Chapel, and numerous senior centers. She served others in her employment at Byrnebrook Senior Center as a recreation assistant. She supported and cared for all of her children and grand children. She loved attending their performances and events, and kept a pictorial history of all family events. Nicky enjoyed playing the piano, tending to her flowers and travel. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters Janet Farson, Carolyn Tufford and Ruth Ann Weiler. Surviving are her husband of sixty-one years Frank McClure, children; Philip (Bridget) McClure, John (Katie) McClure, Becky (Larry) Spencer, Andy (Lisa) McClure; grandchildren Sean and Shannon Spencer, Ian, Paddy, Connor, Cale, Tierney and Natalie McClure, and great grandchildren Spencer and Savannah Opsincs. Visitation will be held from 3-6 pm on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio. Additional visitation will be at the First Baptist Church of Greater Toledo, 6520 Pilliod, Holland, Ohio on Monday July 11, 2016 from 10 am until the time of the service at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts are directed to YMCA Storer Camps/ McClure Family Endowment Fund sent to 6941 Stony Lake Road, Jackson MI, 49201. The family thanks the personnel at the Elizabeth Scott Community and Hospice of NW Ohio for their guidance and care.
