Nancy (Michelsen) Wilbur, age of 72 passed away to be with Jesus on May 21,2026. She was born on June 25, 1954 in Toledo, Ohio, to Paul G. and Frances I. (Getz) Michelsen. She is survived by Jeffrey, her best friend and husband of fifty years. Nancy was a life long resident of Perrysburg, Ohio.
Nancy graduated from Rossford High School in 1972 and received a Rossford Board of Education Scholarship to Owens College. Nancy graduated with Honors in Business Management/Accounting in 1974. Nancy served on the Owens College Alumni Board of Directors for ten years, serving as Sec/Treasurer, then President of the Owens Alumni Association Board of Directors, under the Alumni direction of Dr. Sturgeon. She was instrumental in raising substantial funds for numerous college scholarships for the college. She served as a news reporter for the Owens College Spectator Newspaper Staff.
Nancy and Jeffrey married on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1976 at Zoar Lutheran Church, Perrysburg, where Nancy had been baptized and confirmed. Nancy worked as a department and credit manager at The Lion Store, Southwyck Mall. Her career also included Asst. Director of Safety & Personnel/Executive Secretary and she also worked as a Para-Legal in an executive firm in Accounting & Legal Department. Nancy had a good mind for business and her entrepreneurship included a Real Estate Investment Broker and as a gemstone wholesaler.
Nancy is best known for her generous and compassionate heart as a wife, mother and friend exemplified by her devote love of Jesus, friends, children and grandchildren. She loved traveling, reading, extreme sports, summer's at Cedar Point, her cats Gracie and Luckey and all things that 'sparkled.' Her heart and soul was that of always caring for people. Nancy had a number of cherished girlfriends, as far back as Rossford Kindergarten and throughout her life that she loved keeping in touch with. For 38 years she was a member of the Perrysburg Township Christian Ladies Coffee Club that would meet monthly for breakfast and visit and pray for each other. Nancy loved her Christian ladies country neighbors & loved living being surrounded by farmland.
Nancy served as a Sunday School and Bible School teacher at Zoar for many years and as Sunday School Superintendent. She also wrote a Christmas Play entitled, "The Greatest Gift Of All' for the Zoar Christmas Children's program. She remained active in the community and served as one of the original members of the Perrysburg Arts Council and a Lifetime Member of The Perrysburg Area Historic Museum (PAHM) where she served on the Board of Directors and was a docent for the museum. She
volunteered at the 577 Foundation; the Perrysburg Christian's United Appeal and supported the Toledo and Perrysburg Symphony Orchestra's.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Jeffrey; her two daughters, Amy Irene (Joseph) Akosi and Lisa Marie (Rob) Warren; grandchildren, Luke, Easton, Lily and Titus. Siblings, Dianne Evans, John (Cathy deceased) Michelsen and Robin (Duane) Beam. She is preceded in death by her parents and oldest sister, Louise Eckel (Terry).
Friends and family will be received Tuesday, May 26, 2026 from 2-7 p.m. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg. A Funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 10 a.m. at Zoar Luthern Church, 314 E. Indiana Ave, Perrysburg. Burial will follow in Fort Meigs Union Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be made in Nancy's honor to Zoar Lutheran Church, Sunday School Fund, 314 E. Indiana Ave., Perrysburg, OH 43551. A Luncheon served to family and all friends at Zoar Lutheran Church following burial service at the Family Life Center, 314 E. Indiana Ave, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551.
