Nancy C. Sexton

Nancy C. Sexton, age 85, of Hillsdale, MI and formerly of Toledo and Maumee,  passed away Monday, June 30 surrounded by her loving family  in Ebeid Hospice Residence, Sylvania.  She was born March 1, 1929 in Toledo to Ervin and Lola (Hoy) VanVlerah. Nancy married Raleigh Sexton on June 18, 1949 and just recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.  She was a payroll clerk for Toledo Jeep Corporation for 32 years, retiring in 1986.  A born shopper, she was a loving wife and mother and professional grandmother and great grandmother.  Nancy was the boat driver for her  children for many years  and loved to do crafts.  She especially loved to bake cookies at Christmas time and brownies for her great-grandchildren.  She was affectionately called Gramma Brownie. Surviving is her husband, Raleigh; daughter, Margie (John) Diehl; sons, Rick (Connie) and Steve (Linda) Sexton; grandchildren, Tammi (Robert) Nagucki, Traci (Ronald) Hornyak, Jamison (Jennifer) Diehl, Rick (fiance Lorie Czaplinski), Ryan,  Scott, and Brian (Amber) Sexton and  Brooke (Chad) Amstutz; great grandchildren, Alec, Abbie, Georgia and Nathan Nagucki; Madi and Sydni Hornyak, John Henry Diehl, Chace Shalvoy, Jake Amstutz, Rickey and  Alayna Sexton, Dylan, Cody, Logan and Haylie Czaplinski, Isaac, Charlotte and  Ethan Sexton , and  Elliana and Lucius Sexton; sister, Yvonne (Robert) Coleman; and brothers, Lawrence (Ruth) and David VanVlerah. Friends may visit the family at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey) on Wednesday from 4-8 PM where a memorial service will be held Thursday at 10 AM.  Interment is private.  The family suggests memorials to the Vasculitis Foundation, PO Box 28660, Kansas City, MO 64188 or  Promedica Ebeid Hospice, 5200 Harroun Rd., Sylvania, Ohio 43560.  Condolences may be sent to the family  at walkerfuneralhomes.com
