Nancy L. Pieper, 85, of Sylvania, died Nov. 27, 2016 at Ebeid Hospice. She was born May 19, 1931 in Toledo to the late James and Kathleen Hall. Nancy was a medical secretary with Mercy Hospital for more than 20 years. She had many interests including reading, swimming, dancing and especially traveling. Nancy never met a stranger. She loved all people and was always there to help anyone in need. She had a great sense of humor and could always tell stories that made people laugh. Nancy never took herself too seriously and encouraged others to do the same. Survivors include her children, Scott Gage (Samanthia) and Kelly Barney (James); thirteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and three step children, Joe and Chip Pieper and Melody Lucas. Nancy was also preceded in death by her husband, Herman Pieper; son, John Smith; and step daughter, Cindy Pieper. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where the Rosary will be recited at 7:45 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral, 2535 Collingwood Blvd., Toledo. Memorials are suggested to Rosary Cathedral.
