Nancy Jane Loughlin

Feb 27, 1937 — Oct 17, 2026

Nancy Jane (Streib) Loughlin, age 89, of both Ottawa Hills, OH, and Fort Lauderdale, FL, passed away on October 17, 2026, at Hospice of NW Ohio Toledo. She was born February 27, 1937, in Toledo, OH, to Douglas Robert and Lora Vesta (Stone) Streib. Nancy was the youngest of three daughters. She graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1955 and briefly attended the University of Michigan before starting a family of her own.

Talented, intelligent, and beautiful are words to describe Nancy, but her actions far surpass mere words. From co-hosting a local television show to dancing with Cary Grant at a premiere fashion show, being serenaded by Broadway Joe Namath, an accomplished golfer with multiple holes-in-one, a gourmet chef, a seamstress, modeling and sales at Lamson's and LaSalles, to zip lining at age 80 with grandsons are just a few of her varied interests.

Traveling around the world, especially to Paris many times with her husband, and cruising the Caribbean and Portugal with family are just a sample of her experiences. Another adventure that was so important to Nancy was outings with her friends Maureen and Roxana, who are now all once together again.

Nancy was a member of The Inverness Club and St. Michael's in the Hills for sixty years, as well as a member of Coral Ridge CC in Fort Lauderdale, where she oversaw a golf tournament for the top female amateur players from around the world.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Barbara Janowski, Mary Streib Barnard and her husband of thirty nine years Lawrence Joseph Loughlin, Jr.

She is survived by daughter Hunter Smith (Porter Bruce) Brockway and son Cam (Penny) Smith.

Of all the titles Nancy had throughout her life, the most cherished was being "Nana" to the following survivors; grandchildren, Chase Campbell Eichhorn; R Campbell Smith, IV; Spencer Thorn (Maria) Smith and Preston Smith (Daniel) Earles. Her grandchildren described their Nana as graceful, authentic, confident, elegant, resilient, generous, inspiring and they will all miss her artistic and honest self.

Nancy was the definition of an independent woman. However she needed and accepted assistance at the end of life and received loving care at home from both Delina and Kim which was followed up by compassionate and dignified care at Hospice of NW Ohio.

Family and friends will be received to celebrate an accomplished life that was well lived at the Walker Funeral Home at 5155 Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, OH on Tuesday October 27, 2026 from 3:00-8:00 PM where funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 28 at 10:00 AM.
