Nancy K. Henry, 85, of Maumee, Ohio passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born at home in Oregon, Ohio on January 7, 1932, the middle of three daughters, to Paul J. and Lillian M. (Hemsoth) Pennock. Nancy graduated from Swanton High School in 1949, where she played the clarinet for the marching band. She was a very fast typist and went on to work for Owens Illinois as an executive secretary for over 30 years before retiring in 1987. Nancy was a 16 year volunteer for Jamie Farr Golf as well as being active with the Kidney Foundation. She also belonged to the Maumee Eagles and to OI’s Golden Emblem. Nancy enjoyed gardening, bowling, loved music and was a huge fan of pro football, her favorite team was the Colts. She enjoyed family gatherings, especially the holidays with Christmas being her favorite. She had a collection of over 400 Santas! Nancy is survived by her children, Stephen (Cece) Henry and Debbie (Robert) Halas; grandchildren, Robert (Rachael) Halas II, Cherie (Mark) Zurawski, Amanda (Bryan) Floro and Kristen Chaffin; great grandchildren, Breanna and Mackenzie Chaffin, Grace and Karlee Zurawski, Gavin, Vayda, Vylet, Ivy and Rivers Floro. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Paula Stout and Vera Magee. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 2:00 to 7:00 P.M. in Neville-Shank Funeral Home, Southwest, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, Ohio 43528 (419-865-8879) where funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Swanton Centerville Cemetery in Swancreek Township. Many thanks to Nancy’s long-time physician, Dr. Donald Hickey, the servers at Red Lobster and Judy at Gordon’s, as well as a special thanks from her family to Hospice of Northwest Ohio and Visiting Angels. Memorial contributions may be made to Maumee High School Marching Band and Disabled American Veterans.
