Married to Mark R. Hawley passed away on December 19, 2021, at St. Vincent medical center in Toledo, Ohio. Nancy was born in Superior Wisconsin September 17, 1947, to Jack and Dolores Knutson. She graduated from Superior High School, Class of 1967, and shortly after began a life dedicated to helping others.
Nancy was married to Mark in the fall of 1967, and they spent the next fifty-four years building a life together. Mark and Nancy had a rare and beautiful marriage. Always together, seldom apart, even as they left this world and went to heaven.
Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, and mentor. She worked as a secretary, and then for Hudson department store before starting her most fulfilling job as a mother and homeschool teacher to her children. Nancy spent most of her life raising and shaping children’s lives through foster care. Always welcoming them into her home, and caring for them as her own.
Nancy was a lover of animals. She spent many of her younger years rescuing retired race dogs, and then in recent years, volunteering at the Toledo area humane society. Nancy’s favorite days were the ones spent with her grandchildren. She touched so many lives over the years.
Nancy made a memorable impression on everyone she met. Best known for her quick wit and spunky personality. She was also admired for her faith, courage, and warm heart that she was always willing to share with others. Nancy’s favorite hobbies were spending time with her family, sewing, and gardening.
Nancy is preceded in death by her husband Mark R. Hawley and brother Randy Knutson. She is survived by her children, Christopher (Joanna) Hawley, Katy (Daniel) Tutor, Amy Morrin, and Tia Hawley. Grandchildren, Julieann Morrin, Hannah Hawley, Alex Rader, and Molly Tutor. Great-grandchildren, Vera Coplen. Sisters, Suzan Wilder, Patricia Downs, and many close friends.
Family and Friends will be received at the Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary, Perrysburg, OH on Friday, February 25, 2022, from 4-8 PM. A celebration of Life for Mark and Nancy will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 12:30 PM in the funeral Home followed by interment at Ft. Meigs Cemetery
