Nancy K. Goodman, 64 of Perrysburg, OH peacefully transitioned from this life on October 11, 2018 at Ebeid Hospice Center after fearlessly kicking cancer’s butt for nearly 2 years. Nancy was born March 22, 1954 to Mary (Harris) Davis in Defiance, OH. She was preceded to Heaven by her mother, Mary and brother Tim. She is survived by her husband, Greg; children, Jacob (Nikki), Jocelyn (Meghan), grandsons; August (10), Paxton (9) along with many friends and extended relatives. Nancy graduated from Ayersville High School in 1972 where she loved to play basketball, listen to music and socialize with friends. Nancy married Greg in 1976 and had 2 wild children shortly after. This began her 42 year career as a phenomenal mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, friend, sister, caretaker, healer and an overall wonder woman. A proud member of “the lunch bags”, Nancy loved her work in the cafeteria at Perrysburg Jr. High where she served from 1998 until 3 weeks ago. From the lime green Kawasaki Ninja that she drove in her late teens, to the purple hair that she rocked into her 60’s, Nancy always fulfilled the definition of a free spirit. She loved her kids and grandsons fiercely, she loved her dogs, going out dancing, and her nightly glass of wine but most of all, she loved her life and thanked God for it daily with her actions and her words. She believed that every person had worth and every challenge had meaning. The measure of bravery, gratitude and contagious optimism that she wore every day for the last 2 years of her life was a lesson to all, privileged enough to know her; and in the end cancer didn’t win, it simply could no longer contain her. Nancy will be remembered for her sensational spirit that she clothed with kindness, dignity, courage and a captivating grace that was simply striking. Fly high tough guy. Friends will be received Friday, October 19, 2018 from 4-6pm at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St, Perrysburg, with a celebration of life service at 6 pm. Family requests that you wear bright colors to honor her free spirit. Memorial contributions may be made in Nancy’s name to the Ebeid Hospice Residence.
