Nancy Gnotek

Nancy Gnotek, age 79, died Friday, June 10, 2011 at The Toledo Hospital. Nancy was born October 6, 1931 in Toledo to Samuel and Sarah Periatt. A 1949 graduate of St. Ursula Academy, she was also a 1952 graduate of the Mercy School of Nursing. Nancy was a Registered Nurse at Mercy Hospital for 36 years retiring in 1988. She enjoyed traveling, camping, and playing cards with family and friends but most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren and cheering them on at their sporting events. She was a longtime parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church and was passionate about her faith. Nancy will be remembered most for her kindness and fun-loving nature. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Florian Floyd Gnotek; daughters, Susan Michael Pollauf and Julie Bill Brinkman; son, Tony Lisa Gnotek; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, John Periatt and sister, Joan Topolewski. Visitation will be Monday, from 2-8:00 pm with a Rosary Service at 7:30 pm, at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd.,. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4100 Harvest Lane Toledo, OH 43623, followed by interment at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
