Nancy Canfield

Early on Monday, March 22nd, Nancy took flight to her eternal home in Heaven. She was born on September 30, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio to Delbert and Esther Faneuff. Nancy grew up in Perrysburg, Ohio and graduated in 1948 from Perrysburg High School. She married Don Houghton in 1949 and they raised 2 sons: Stephen and Charles. Nancy was a professional singer in the big band era of the 1950’s and 60’s. She sang under her stage name of ‘Nancy Hill’ with many local and road bands including: Cal Warmington and Steve Snyir. Two of her favorite places to sing were at the Shalimar Room in the Commodore Perry Hotel and the Victorian Terrace in the Hillcrest Hotel. After retiring from the music industry, Nancy became a banker. She worked at Farmers Savings Bank beginning her career as a teller. Over the years she was promoted to a Branch Manager and retired as a Vice President of Farmers Savings. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Don and two sons: Stephen and Charles, brother, Dr. Charles Faneuff, and second husband, D. Clifton Canfield. She is survived by her 6 loving grandchildren: Shelly Villanueva, Laura Foley, Summer Sandoval, Tim Houghton, Eric Antoszewski and Shannon Davis and 11 great grandchildren. Per Nancy’s wishes there will be no visitation or memorial service. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice, 1900 Indian Wood Circle, Maumee, Ohio 43537.
