Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and granny Nancy J. Buehler, 90, of Perrysburg, passed away peacefully on December 31st, 2020 at Sunset Village. Nancy, the eldest of four children, was born in Port Clinton, Ohio on August 12th, 1930 to Albert and Burnetta (Perry) Baumgartner. She graduated from Oak Harbor High School. During her freshman year, she met her lifelong love, Elroy S. Buehler. After sustaining their love by the exchange of letters through Elroy’s deployment with the United States Army, they were able to marry on March 29th, 1952. He preceded her in death on July 21, 2020. She missed him desperately as their love spanned more than 75 years. Nancy was a member of St. John XXIII Catholic Church. While her hobbies included genealogy, watching movies and playing cards, her biggest passion in life was her family. She set an inspiring example of what family devotion means. Whether it was making sure she was present for every event to the meticulously planned Easter egg hunts, or the abundant supply of her infamous peanut butter rice crispy cookies, she always made sure you knew how special you were to her. In life, Nancy never believed in ending a visit or conversation with “Goodbye” because of the finality implied by the word. Those who have been privileged with her love know that even in death, this is still not “goodbye”, merely just another “I love you. See you later.” Nancy is survived by her children; Thomas (Molly) Buehler, Dr. Kathy (Dave) Horton, Mark (Mary Sue) Buehler, and Sue (Dr. Louis) Reiner; grandchildren, Kelly (David) Smith, Jacob (Megan) Buehler, Amanda (Chris) Ackerman, Dr. Mark (Dee) Buehler, Ryan (Cara) Buehler, Dr. Jason (Katie) Buehler, Dr. Matthew (Dr. Paris Malin) Reiner, Emily (Jim) Holzhauer, Whitney (Caleb) Reighard, Zachary (Dayna) Reiner, Brianna (Bryan) Swint, and Kelsey (Gary) Michaud; twenty-one great-grandchildren, brother Ronald Baumgartner, and sister Linda Perry. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister Norma McGookey. Friends will be received Wednesday, January 6, 2021, from 4-8 p.m. at Witzler-Shank Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133) where funeral services will be held Saturday, January 9th, 2021 at 10 a.m. with a graveside service to follow at Lake Township Cemetery.
