Nancy Buccilli, age 65, of Toledo, died April 25, 2016 at The Toledo Hospital. Nancy was born November 15, 1950 in Youngstown to the late Alvino and Martha (Markovich) Buccilli. She graduated from Campbell (OH) Memorial High School in 1968 and earned both her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Bowling Green State University. A gifted linguist, Nancy taught both French and Spanish at Maumee Valley Country Day School for more than 35 years. She was involved in many activities both in and out of school including North Central Accreditation Teams, language conferences, etc. and was especially proud of her recent involvement with the highly successful Quiz Bowl team. She was beloved by her students as she had a keen ability to relate to and connect with young people. In her free time, Nancy enjoyed studying family history and traveling around the world. She was an avid reader and animal lover with a special fondness for horses and dogs. Nancy was a skilled cook and loved to host guests around her table for special meals. She was a wonderful and devoted mother and is lovingly survived by her children, Caitlin Dunipace Allen (Dave) and Thomas More Dunipace (Lauren); as well as her sister, Bonnie Dykes (Jeff); and many beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 4227 Bellevue, Toledo, where the family will receive guests beginning at 9:30 a.m. Memorials are suggested to the Nancy Buccilli Scholarship Fund in care of Maumee Valley Country Day School at mvcds.org.
