Nancy E. Barnd

Nancy E. Barnd, age 84 of Maumee, Ohio passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at the Elizabeth Scott Care Center. She was born in Toledo on November 10, 1936, to John and Elizabeth (Ruble) Reuter. Nancy was a 1954 graduate of Libbey High School. Nancy began her newspaper career in the late 1960’s at the Maumee Valley News and was later employed at the Toledo Blade in the sales department until her retirement in 1999. Following retirement, she and her husband Dan enjoyed traveling to Europe and the Caribbean. She was a member of the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and Maumee Elks. Nancy volunteered at the Respite Care Program at church and The Literacy Program in her community. She was always involved in a variety of social clubs and organizations. Nancy was an amateur artist and displayed some of her pieces at the Toledo Museum of Art. Nancy was always active in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives and enjoyed attending their music, sports and dance activities. Surviving are her daughters, Betsy (Dennis) Nellis, Sue (Richard) Fisher, Tracy (Doug) Jerabek; sister, Linda (Don) Baumgartner; grandchildren, Darcy (Tim) Egan, Kristen (Josh) Colter, Samantha (Gonzalo) Ayala, John Jerabek and Alexis (Kyle) Martin; and great-grandchildren, Andrew and Abigail Scicere, Noah, Ben and Emma Egan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Barnd. A gathering of family and friends will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. 310 Elizabeth St., Maumee, on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 10 AM until the time of service at 12 Noon.
