Miss Nadine Linda Pfaff, 69, of Williston, Ohio passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Mercy-St. Charles Hospital. She was born on May 14, 1955, in Toledo, Ohio and grew up in Point Place community. She attended Glendale Fielback, Larc Lane and Jay Shuer schools.
While Nadine lived with cerebral palsy, she did not let that stop her from living an active and joy-filled life. On October 3, 1988, Nadine moved to Luther Home of Mercy where she thrived for over 36 years. She spent many of her years attending Riverview Industries Inc. in Oak Harbor, where she retired doing office work. Her RVI highlight was being named Christmas Candy Cane Queen. Nadine recently was enrolled at RVI’s day program Starbright location in Perrysburg and was a longtime member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Toledo.
Nadine enjoyed talking to her many friends and family on the phone, listening to country music, making art projects, cheering on her favorite The OHIO State Buckeyes football team and participating in many shopping events. She also loved going out to eat, attending concerts and all kinds of social activities taking place within the community as well as on the Luther Home of Mercy campus.
Nadine took great pride in being her own guardian and making her own decisions for her life. She used her voice to coach countless staff on how to provide quality and loving care. A community advocate, Nadine shared with others what it was like to have a disability. She was part of the 2019 REACH program at Genoa Elementary where she taught fourth graders about Luther Home of Mercy. She also participated in a video to the Ohio Department of Transportation, expressing the need for accessible vehicles.
Nadine was active in the Luther Home of Mercy Mission Advancement Department and was devoted to community engagement. She served on the Auxiliary, recruited volunteers, gave tours of the campus, participated in special events and speaking engagements and made countless friendships. Her greatest legacy is the beautiful letters of gratitude she sent as the volunteer correspondent; maintaining up to 40 pen pals at a time.
Nadine is survived by her sister, Marsha Beaudoin, nephew, Kevin Beaudoin and great-nephews, Mason, Eric, and Jason, along with countless cousins, and her Luther Home of Mercy family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Pfaff and Sofie (Mazur) Pfaff, older brother, Larry Pfaff, and nephew, Brian Beaudoin.
A funeral service for Nadine will be conducted at 10 AM, Friday, April 4, 2025 in the Chapel at Luther Home of Mercy, 5810 N. Main St., Williston, OH 43468.
