Myron Evans Amstutz

March 9, 1919 — September 14, 2009

Myron Evans Amstutz, age 90, of Sylvania, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 14, 2009. He was born to Mattie Weckerly and William J. Amstutz on March 9, 1919, in Archbold, Ohio. He graduated from Swanton High School and attended Moody Bible Institute. Myron worked for Dunn and Bradstreet for eleven years and for Picton-Cavenaugh for thirty-nine years, retiring as senior vice president in 1995. Upon retirement, he continued his charitable work as a representative for the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for over 50 years, serving his Lord in many capacities including sharing his love for Christian music by singing in the choir, participating in many musicales, and presiding as choir president for 20 years. He also served on the committee that founded Emmanuel Christian School. He lovingly cared for his wife during a long illness before her death in 2002. He gave generously of his time and resources to family members, to friends, and to various Christian organizations over the years. Myron is survived by his brother, Harold Helen E. Amstutz of Cedarville, OH; four nephews, David Kathy Brown of Sylvania, OH, Terry Connie Brown of Greenville, SC, William Nancy Amstutz of Union Grove, WI, Kenton Marilyn Amstutz of Papillion, NE; and niece, Lynn Robert Rohm of Cedarville, OH. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Yoder Amstutz; sisters, Mildred Lucille in childhood, and Ruby Brown. Friends and family may visit at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave., west of Corey Rd. on Thursday, September 17th, from 4 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 4207 W. Laskey Road, on Friday, September 18th at 11 am. Interment will be at the Archbold Cemetery in Archbold, OH at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 4207 W.
