Myra L. Maier

Myra L. Maier, age 75, of Toledo, passed peacefully into her Heavenly home on January 30, 2019. She was born Sept. 19, 1943 in Toledo. Myra was employed for more than 20 years with Lucas County MRDD (Lott Industries) where she established many lasting friendships. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed working with ceramics, gardening, loved the outdoors and found her greatest joy in time spent with her family. Myra and her husband rescued several Weimaraner dogs including current companion, Lazlo. She was a member of Friendship Park Senior Center and will be affectionately remembered as a kid-at-heart. Myra is lovingly survived by her children, Linda Maier (Randy) and Joseph Maier (Roxanne); grandchildren, Adrienne Fackley, Adam Maier, Malisa Ortyl, and Brandon Maier (Monica); great grandchildren, Kayden and Kai Maier; and brother, Buddy Holt (Carol). She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Maier, Sr.; sons, Robert in infancy and David Jr.; two brothers and one sister. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 5, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of memorial services at 7:00 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.). Private interment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens. The family would like to extend a special thank you to home health nurse Amy for her loving care of Myra.
