Myra Anne Abel

Myra Anne Abel, 72, of Maumee, Ohio passed away at home on December 4th surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Elizabeth (Greenlese) Ruetz and her brother Gerald Ruetz. Myra Anne was a proud graduate of McAuley High School in 1967, and still gathered with her school friends. She married her love, Gary Abel in 1968 and spent the next 53 years building a life and raising her family. She is survived by her husband Gary Abel, her brother and sister-in-law Paul & Carol Ruetz (Hartford, CT), and her children: Jon & Julie (Maumee), Beth & Denny (Toledo), Tricia & Tim (Omaha), Kurt & Tracey (Bonneau, SC), Martin (Pittsburgh), and Wil (Maumee), as well as a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved gathering the family around, celebrating holidays with everyone home. There was always room at her table for one more, as anyone who attended their legendary hobo dinners would tell you. Since their retirement she and Gary spent time spoiling their dog Roscoe, exploring in their travel trailer, and seeing the country. Family and friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee on Thursday, December 9, 2021, from 3:00-8:00 PM with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM. Prayers will begin in the funeral home on Friday, December 10, 2021, at 10:15 AM followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Catholic Church, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo.
