Mosie Nesbit-Johnson, 76, of Port Clinton, OH, was welcomed into heaven, on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 30, 1936 in Memphis, TN, the daughter of Moses and Fannie Norris Robinson. On August 23, 2003 in Sandusky, OH, she married Weston Wes Johnson and he survives. Mosie was a lifelong resident of Port Clinton and worked for Standard Products, retiring in 1972. She was an evangelist at United Community Church, Toledo, Ohio, under the leadership of Pastor Danny J. Cunningham Sr., the past 20 years and a tireless advocate for displaced and disadvantaged people. She was the former president of the NAACP Port Clinton Chapter for 25 years. She also was the past president of the Conestoga Neighborhood Project of Port Clinton. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Survivors include: Husband: Weston Wes Johnson; Daughter: Kelly Diane Townsel; Grandson: Norman Lawrence Townsel; Step-son: Bobby Nesbit; Step-Daughter: Maria Nesbit; Brothers: Jessie Norris and Joseph Robinson; Sisters: Maurine Lewis and Carolyn Norman Fletcher; Sister-in-Law: Martha Turner. Mosie was preceded in death by her parents, husband: David Nesbit Jr. and brother: Willie Calvin Turner. Visitation will be 10-12pm, Saturday, November 30, 2013, in Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 216 Washington St, Port Clinton, OH, followed by the funeral service conducted at 12:00PM. Memorial donations in memory of Mosie may be given to the Conestoga Neighborhood Project.
