Morris Morry Jesse Wilkins, 77, of Genoa passed peacefully at home in the early morning hours of June 2nd, after several months living with cancer. Born January 26th, 1935, in Battle Creek, Michigan, Morry was the youngest of six children. He graduated from Battle Creek Central in 1953, where he was known as Windy. He met his love, Patricia Patt Walker at church camp and they married in 1955. During these years, he spent time in the US Air Force, trained as a Navigator. After the service, he and Patt had four children: Daniel, Amy, Valerie and John. In the 1960s the family lived in Coldwater, Michigan. A job at Shrader Tire brought the family to the Toledo area in 1968. Over the next 35 years, except for a three-year period managing the Sporting Goods Department at the Woodville Mall Woolworths, he would drive a truck as an Owner/Operator for various companies in Ohio and Michigan. The family lived in Northwood from 1971 to 1977 and Genoa from then on. Morry was a third-generation Detroit Tiger fan we kids grew up with WJR and Ernie Harwell as the background sound to our childhood. He also enjoyed Softball, Golf, Euchre and Bowling. He bowled on several church and league teams. He and Patt wereboth civically minded, involved nationally in the Jaycees during the 1960s. They were long-time members of St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Oregon and of Trinity United Methodist in Genoa. He was a good husband, father, grandfather and person and will be missed. He is preceded in death by his wife, Patt; his father and mother, Vern and Anna; his brother, Junior, and sisters, Barbara and Donna. He is survived by his sister, Hazel, his brother, Don, his children, Daniel Beth, Amy Obermyer Terry, Valerie DeVaughn Tim and John Jennifer. Also, by his Grandchildren, Elizabeth Marshall Adam, Brandon Louk, Cecilia Wilkins, Taylor Wilkins, Dustin Obermyer and five Great-Grandchildren, Cody, Autumn, Lauren, Matthew and Mason Marshall. A celebration of his life is planned for Saturday, June 9th, 11am, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Genoa. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that any donations be made to Northwest Ohio Hospice or Trinity United Methodist Church in Genoa.
